Wanted - 5,200 LBQ women - for one night only!

Pride in London is almost here. A week of fringe events followed by the weekend of partying. Here we list all of the events that are on offer that have a focus towards LBQ women... we really are spoilt for choice this year!! On Saturday alone, the total capacity at events where it is run by or for women is a whopping 5,200.

Pride and bPay – don’t get caught out without any money!

Whilst the idea of wearing your funky wrist band and leaving the wallet at home sounds great, sadly for us women you will need to have both for some of the events on offer. We have added whether the venue accepts contactless or not, so you don’t pre-load all of your money onto your wristband only to find you can’t actually use it where you are going! Using the wrist band will give 20p in every £1 you spend to Pride in London (if you signed up to this – it was optional).

Don’t forget to pre-purchase your ticket if you are going out with just the band as if the event has a door fee, this will be cash only!

Lesbian Latin love comes to London for Pride
Smirnoff supports Girlie Carnival in conjunction with One Love London and Girlie Circuit Barcelona to recreate the euphoric vibe of a Latin street party for London Pride on June 28, 2014 from 9pm – 5am at Soho’s eclectic Grace Bar.
The hottest ticket to Pride’s biggest party for girls will be held right in the heart of Soho. For one night only the Girlie Carnival is taking over the Milk Bar and Cocoa Club space for an unforgettable, special event featuring the spiciest DJ’s on the scene.
In the Milk Bar, Popstarz DJ Talia will be playing Pop alongside DJ Denis the Menace who will be dropping his signature pulsating, sexy R-n-B rhythms for those who want to get down and dirty on the dance-floor. Club regular girls’ scene scorchers Miss Cupcake, Rachel Harvey and DJ Lady Lola will also be banging out the party tunes and Pride anthems all night long.
As well as this stellar DJ line up, One Love will be laying on jaw-dropping live entertainment that captures the carnival spirit: expect driving, euphoric samba beats and carnal misbehaviour with Brazilian Drummers, sexy Samba dancing and flaming fire-eaters. HOT!
Whilst One Love and Girlie Circuit support this year’s theme of “freedom” all year round, this year will be particularly special as the Girlie Carnival party will play host to the truly diverse and international Lesbian and Bi audiences. Welcoming those who come to London to celebrate their sexual freedom, this is sure to be the best Pride celebration on the planet.
Smirnoff is proudly supporting Girlie Carnival at Pride and will be handing out Freedom freebies all night to lots of lucky bi girls and lesbians. As if this wasn’t enough, keep your eye out for the Barcelona Girlie Circuit freebies too.
Tickets are bound to sell out so make sure you’re one of the early birds who samba away with theirs for just £10 before the price goes up to £15.
VIP tables will also be available for the night.

Tickets £20 (profit goes to Stonewall).

POUT and Stonewall Women will be celebrating PRIDE this year at St Martin in the Fields with a Champagne reception and Party from 9pm to 2am.

Stonewall Women was set up to encourage more women to participate in Stonewall and to promote greater understanding of lesbian and bi sexual women's needs.

The 2014 PRIDE theme is "Freedom to" and POUT is proud to be the host for the official Stonewall Women's Pride Party.

The UK LGBT community have the "Freedom to" embrace, enjoy and celebrate the human rights and social equalities that do not exist in other countries. This, to a large extent, has come about through organised protest, demonstrations, vigils, lobbying, fights, loss, education and legislation. Thanks to strong voices like Stonewall we are able to demand and expect equal opportunity with our heterosexual peers. In my time we have come a long way but the journey is not at an end. We still need to continue the campaign for total equality, for acceptance and fight against hate crime.

The Stonewall Women's Pride Party is a fund raiser to help continue the campaign for equality.

There will be a glass of bubbly on arrival, canapés from 9:30pm, goody bags and great, uplifting, awesome party music to dance, stomp, bump, boogie, shimmy, shake and twerk your thang until two in the morning!!!!

Yahooooo! Music by Mz Shady Lady! It will be fabulous, spectacular, amazing, fantastic event to say thank you for supporting Stonewall and that we deeply appreciate your continued help. This event is open to our lovely male supporters.

Find your Pride!

How you can help make Pride in London 2014 the best yet
1) Get Marching! There's no other experience like walking in a group as part of the parade and waving to the thousands of Londoners that come out to support the Parade. There's music, there's dancing, there's antics and a great buzz. And if you're lucky, no rain!

Parade registration for groups closes on 18th May.
Details:
http://prideinlondon.org/get-involved/parade-registration/

If you are an individual, there are lots of groups marching, and they all need bodies - so ask your sports team, social group or charity if you can volunteer. If you would like to march with us, get in touch ASAP!! You'll get a free t-shirt and maybe some goodies too, as well as a guaranteed fun day.

OR you could take parade involvement to the next level, and volunteer to steward the event, along with hundreds of other LGBT community members. It's a fantastic way to make friends - through the training and social events - and be involved on the day without the pressure of marching with a group. Find out more here

2) However, the Parade can't happen at all without some investment from the community. Following the success of last year, Pride in London have set up a crowdfunder to help cover the cost of the parade - things like barriers and security don't come cheap. http://prideinlondon.org/get-involved/fund-parade/

Just £2 can make a big difference, if we all get behind this!

3) There's more to Pride in London than the Parade. Did you know the organisers are also curating a festival of community-organised events. We want that to be incredibly diverse - building on the success of last year. Planet London are keen to make sure there's plenty of events for women, and that women know about the events to attend.

We will be promoting the events on the My Pocket Planet App exclusive events calendar - so you'll know what's on and where at your fingertips!

4) #PROUDWomenUK launched on 15 April. PROUDWOMEN is the non-profit partnership between Elysion Events & Pride In London (Community Interest Company CIC); on a mission to increase the representation, inclusion and visibility of women at Pride. Here's a link to their Facebook - please 'like' and 'share' their page; attend their events - the first one of which is the PROUDWOMEN Challenge Quiz; lend your support; be involved.

Join the #ProudWomenUK quiz night - bring a team to a heat and if you can make it into the finals. Heats are taking place on Wednesdays throughout April & May with celebrity guest hosts - Zoe Lyons is the first! For full details about how to enter a team, visit their Facebook page.

Planet London are keen to hear from you if you have any ideas about how to raise funds towards activities for us in Pride, and from any women interested in running or supporting fundraising events - get in touch via mail@planet-london.com
