Event: DowngirlsNW1 Kings and Queens Night

Venue: The Black Cap
Date: Friday 11 July 9pm-3am
Tickets: On the Door: £5 before midnight, £6 after. Limited £4 guest list available

Missy Downgirl has indeed been busy, after the first night on Friday 30 April, she has gone on to promote 5 successful nights at DowngirlsNW1. Featuring acts and DJs such as DJAmyB, DJ PoppyLKav, DJ Sandra Davenport, DJ Chillz, Jade Ellis, Lou Sanders, Ruby Fortune, Harlow Heartbreak, Rubyyy Jones, Miri, Immani Love, D-Rhimes and Larissa Eddie.

Missy Downgirl however has told Planet London that her up and coming night excites her more than any other night she has promoted because of what it represents.

Missy & Vanity Von Glow
Whilst Downgirls is a night for women and aimed at women, Missy Downgirl makes no secret of her desire to see a community rebuilt and a space where everyone LGBTQ can party together. She even goes as far as saying she has witnessed more homophobia between gays and lesbians than in the whole of the wider community and that in order for things to really move on there needs to be a night that is truly mixed. Not just a handful of women in a corner. Missy Downgirl is pleased that the last few nights have attracted such a high number of LBQ women, and has advised the make up of each night has been 70/30 female to male, and in a 300 capacity venue this is somewhat unheard of.

Missy Downgirl insists the night is a Queer night and everyone who is a Downgirl is welcome, female, male or somewhere in between.

Missy Downgirl and Downgirls have decided put their money where their mouth is, and have got two popular DJs on the women’s scene, DJ Claire Chambers (Bijou, Bridge Girls) and DJ Chillz (Bootilicious, Lush) to play the very best in commercial dance and hip hop and RNB with a Kings and Queens twist.

Missy & loUis CYfer
Missy Downgirl has secured one of the most hyped Drag Kings of the moment, Drag Idol Winner LoUis CYfer (the first ever Drag King Winner), and Drag Queens of London star Vanity Von Glow, to battle it out on stage and let the crowd decide who is victorious with a lot of laughs and songs in between. Missy Downgirl as you can see takes getting to know her acts very seriously ;).

Missy Downgirl also promises some surprise guests on the night and considering the line up above, we know she will not disappoint. She has promised everyone who attends to “Prepare for a #mingetwinge” and wants everyone who is #queerandfierce to get down at Downgirls for the night.

Missy Downgirl also supports Planeteers and welcomes them to her events, in fact they have been at every event so if you are interested in being a planeteer at a Downgirls event, please get in contact at downgirlsnw1@gmail.com.

Limited £4 guest list available please email downgirlsnw1@gmail.com £5 before 11pm £6 after.

Down Girls Gets Down with Jade Ellis - you can too!

Downstairs at the Black Cap, something is stirring, the ground is buzzing, and something big is coming. Women from all over London, and further afield, are descending upon Camden to go to DownGirls. Why is this night causing such a stir?

The launch event was a huge success, with 3 live acts offering 3 different burlesque style performances, and 2 top class London LBQ DJs that kept the dancefloor busy from around 10pm right through to close. If you didn't catch this event and you want to know more you can read our review here

In May DownGirls returns and it is going to be a showstopper. Raising money for Pride in London alongside Planet London's Proud Planet campaign, the event is going to see the return of Ruby Fortune, and Leela (both back by popular demand!) as well as a live performance from London-based X Factor contestant Jade Ellis. BBC3 and Comedy Central Lou Sanders will be on hand for the social hour!

What a line up!

The night will be hosted by Back to the Wildroom and event managed on the night by Missy Downgirl and her Mister.

The best thing is because this is a fundraiser, it won't break the bank. Tickets are £5 in advance and £5 on the door before 10pm (plus the first 50 women get a free drink!); £15 after 10pm. Show the MyPocketPlanet app or a SHE stamp on the door to get £5 entry all night. There is also 6 VIP tickets up for grabs. These get you private entrance; a table at our VIP booth (situated next to our celebrity guest booth) and with a prime view of the stage. VIP tickets include a free drink on arrival and are £20.

The intimate gig with Jade alone makes this event worth every penny.

Raffle tickets will be available on the night from Planeteers. The raffle is going on throughout May and June and there are a number of VIP event tickets available to LBQ events in London as well as bottles of bubbly and Planet London goodies. Win something special at the event with one of the acts that money cannot buy!

Other ways you can support Pride in London is by throwing your change from each drink you buy into the buckets on the bar. You won't even miss it!

So what are you waiting for, get your ticket for the hottest event of the month before they sell out. Although the Black Cap has capacity for 300, with so many LBQ women in London, they could sell out in no time.
